What is Liquid water?

Liquid water is water that flows and takes the shape of whatever holds it, just like juice in a cup.

What Does It Feel Like?

Imagine you're holding a glass of lemonade on a warm day. The liquid inside moves around when you tilt the glass, that's liquid water at work. It’s not solid like ice, and it’s not gas like steam, but something in between. When you drink it, it slips down your throat easily.

How Does It Change?

If you leave that lemonade out too long, it might turn into ice, that's when liquid water becomes solid water. But if you heat it up on the stove, it can become steam, that's when liquid water turns into gas water.

Liquid water is everywhere: in your bathtub, in a rain puddle, and even inside your body when you’re drinking water or eating ice cream! It’s one of the most important things on Earth, and it’s as simple as lemonade in a glass.
