What Happens When Light Bounces Off Your Face
Imagine you're playing with a ball in the park. The ball comes flying at you, hits your hand, and then bounces back toward your friend. That’s what happens with light, when light hits your face, some of it bounces off, just like the ball.
This bounced-off light travels through the air until it reaches your eyes. Your brain then takes that light and turns it into a picture, that's how you see yourself! It’s like having a tiny camera on your head that takes pictures of everything around you, including your own face.
Why You See What You See
If no light bounced off your face, you wouldn’t be able to see it. Think about being in a dark room, you can’t see anything because there's not enough light bouncing around. But when the lights are on, everything shines and you can see clearly!
So, every time you look at yourself in the mirror or see your face in sunlight, you're seeing light that bounced off your face!
Examples
- Light reflects off walls, which is why you can see them clearly.
- Sunlight hits water, and some of it bounces back up, creating shiny waves.
