What is Layer 2 solutions?

Layer 2 solutions are ways to make things faster and cheaper by doing some work behind the scenes.

Imagine you're playing a game where every time you want to move a piece, you have to ask your friend for permission, and they write it down on a paper. That takes time and uses up a lot of paper. Now imagine instead you both agree that once in a while, you can just tell each other what happened during the whole game, like saying, "I moved my piece 5 times", and then your friend writes that one big change on the paper. This saves time and paper.

That's kind of how Layer 2 solutions work with computers. The main computer (like the paper) handles big changes, while smaller things happen in the background (like your game moves). It’s like having a secret helper who takes care of small tasks so you don’t have to do everything yourself.

Why it's useful

Sometimes, doing things fast and cheap is more important than doing them right away. Just like how sometimes you’d rather play the whole game before writing down all the moves!
