What is Laser light?

Laser light is like a super-focused beam of light that doesn’t spread out much.

Imagine you're holding a flashlight in the dark, its light spreads out into a big circle on the wall. Now imagine if that flashlight was magic, and instead of spreading out, it stayed tight and straight all the way to the other side of the room, like a narrow ribbon. That's what laser light is like!

How It Works

Laser light starts in a special kind of lamp, called a laser. Inside this lamp, tiny particles (like little bouncy balls) are made to move together and shine in the same direction. This makes the light very strong and clear, just like how your voice sounds louder when you all sing together instead of shouting separately.

Why It's Useful

Because it stays focused, laser light can do amazing things, like cutting through paper, helping doctors see inside our bodies, or even sending messages across space! It’s like having a superpower that lets you shine really far and really clearly.
