What is Large language models (LLMs)?

A large language model is like a super-smart friend who can talk about almost anything you ask them.

Imagine you have a toy box full of blocks, and every block has words on it. A large language model is like someone who knows how to put all those blocks together in the right way to make sentences that sound just like real people talking. They’ve practiced for a really long time, so long that they know almost every word and how to use them properly.

How It Works

Think of it like learning a song by heart. At first, you might only know a few lines, but after hearing the whole song many times, you can sing it all the way through without help. A large language model learns in much the same way, it reads and memorizes lots of books, stories, and conversations so that when you ask it a question, it can come up with a good answer.

Why It’s Useful

You can talk to this super-smart friend about anything, like what your favorite animal is, how to build a treehouse, or even how to solve a puzzle. The more it talks, the smarter it gets!
