Land use is how people shape and use different parts of the Earth, just like you decide what to do with your toys in your room.
Imagine your room is a piece of land, and you have different areas for playing, sleeping, or storing your stuff. That’s like land use, it's about deciding what each part of the land will be used for.
Like a City Map
If you're building a city, some parts might be for houses (residential area), others for stores and offices (commercial area), and some for roads or parks. It’s like arranging your toys in different zones, one corner is for blocks, another is for cars, and so on.
Farming Land
In the countryside, land might be used to grow food (agricultural use), think of it as a giant playground where cows play and plants grow instead of you and your friends!
Sometimes people change how they use land, just like you might rearrange your toys when you’re playing a new game. That’s land use in action!
Examples
- A farmer uses his field to grow corn every year.
- A city builds a new park in an empty lot.
- A family moves into a house near a busy highway.
