What is Islam?

Islam is a way of life that helps people feel connected to God and each other.

Islam means "submission", like when you follow your favorite character in a story or listen to your mom when she says it's time for bed. It’s about doing what feels right and being kind to others, just like sharing your toys with friends.

What Islam Teaches

At the heart of Islam is Allah, the one and only God. People who follow Islam believe Allah created everything, and they try to live in a way that honors Him. They say prayers five times a day, just like how you might say "good morning" every time you see your teacher.

How People Practice Islam

When Muslims pray or fast during Ramadan, it’s like having a special time with family, maybe you eat fewer snacks for a week and then have a big dinner on the last night. They also believe in justice and helping others, just like how you might stand up for your friend if someone is being mean.

Islam helps people feel calm inside and reminds them they're all part of one big story, just like everyone in your class is part of the same school adventure.
