What is irregular?

Irregular means something doesn’t follow the usual pattern or rule.

Imagine you have a box of crayons, all neatly lined up by color. Then one day, someone moves the blue crayon to be with the red ones. Now it’s irregular because it's not where we expect it to be.

Like Shapes That Don’t Fit

Think about building blocks. Most blocks are rectangles or squares, they have straight sides and right angles. But if you find a block that’s curved on one side, like a half-circle, it doesn’t match the others. That block is irregular because it doesn't follow the same shape as the rest.

Or Maybe It's About Time

If your bus usually comes at 8 o’clock, but one day it arrives at 9 o’clock, that’s irregular. The bus didn’t follow its usual time. It did something different, just like how irregular shapes do something different from regular ones.

So, irregular means not the same every time or not following the usual rule, it's like when things decide to be a little more fun and unpredictable!
