What is interdependence?

Interdependence means things rely on each other to work properly, just like friends helping each other during a game.

Imagine you and your friend are building a tower with blocks. If one of you stops stacking, the tower might fall. But if both of you keep working together, the tower gets taller and stronger. That’s interdependence, when two or more things depend on each other to be successful.

Like a Teamwork Sandwich

Think about making a sandwich. The bread holds everything together, the cheese adds flavor, and the meat gives it substance. If you take away the bread, the sandwich might fall apart. If there’s no cheese, it's just a plain meal. All parts of the sandwich depend on each other to be tasty and satisfying.

A Real-Life Example

A bee hive is like a big team. Bees collect nectar from flowers, and in return, flowers get pollinated so they can make more flowers. Without bees, the flowers might not grow as well. Without flowers, the bees wouldn’t have enough food. That’s interdependence in action, it's how nature keeps everything balanced and happy.
