What is intensity?

Intensity is how strong or lively something feels.

Imagine you're at a party. If one friend claps softly, that’s like a whisper. But if the whole room starts jumping and shouting together, that’s a loud, exciting cheer, and that's higher intensity!

Like a Light Switch

Think of a light bulb. When it's on low, it gives off just a little bit of brightness, kind of like a sleepy cat. But when you turn it all the way up, it shines super bright, like a happy, dancing elephant! The more bright the light is, the higher its intensity.

Like a Fire

Or think about a campfire. A small flame is gentle and calm, that's low intensity. But if the fire gets big and hot, it’s blazing and wild, that's high intensity!

So whether it's sound, light, or heat, intensity tells us how strong or lively something is, just like how loud or quiet a party can be!
