Insecurity is when you feel unsure about yourself or your stuff, like it might not be good enough.
Imagine you have a favorite toy that you love to play with every day. It's your go-to friend during break time and bedtime. But one day, someone shows off a brand new, shiny toy that looks really cool. All of a sudden, you start wondering, is my toy as good as theirs? You might feel insecure about your toy because it doesn't look as fancy anymore.
Like a Cloudy Mirror
Think of insecurity like looking in a mirror that's a little cloudy. When you see yourself in the mirror, it’s not clear, maybe you think your hair is messy or your shirt is wrinkled when it really isn’t. You feel unsure about how you look because the mirror makes it hard to tell.
Insecurity can also happen when you're doing something new, like trying to ride a bike for the first time. If you wobble and almost fall, you might feel insecure about your balance, but with practice, you’ll get better!
Sometimes insecurity goes away once you try something out or see that others are feeling the same way too.
