What is Indulgence vs. restraint?

Indulgence is when you choose something fun right now, while restraint is when you say "wait" to get something even better later.

Imagine you have a bowl of candy in front of you. If you grab all the candy at once and eat it all, that’s indulgence, you’re enjoying the sweet, sticky goodness right away. But if you save some for tomorrow, that’s restraint, you're choosing to wait so you can enjoy more candy later.

Think of it like a cookie jar. If you eat all the cookies in one sitting, you might feel happy now but sad later when there are no cookies left. That's indulgence.

But if you take just one or two cookies today and save the rest for tomorrow, you’re being restraint, you're making sure you have something good to look forward to.

So, indulgence is like a big, loud celebration now, while restraint is like a quiet promise that something even better will come later.
