What is human-made?

Human-made means something was created by people instead of being made by nature.

Imagine you're playing with building blocks, that’s human-made, because you (or someone else) put those blocks together. Nature, like a tree growing from the ground or rain falling from the sky, is not made by people, it happens on its own.

What makes something human-made?

  • If you draw a picture, it's human-made, your hands did the work.
  • A toy car is human-made, someone designed and built it in a factory.
  • Your favorite blanket was probably human-made, too, people wove or sewed the fabric.

Nature vs. Human-Made

Nature is like when you leave your toys scattered on the floor, they just are, no one put them there. But if you tidy up by putting all your toys in a box, that's human-made, you made it organized!

So, remember: anything you or someone else built, painted, wrote, or cooked is human-made, and it's everywhere around you!
