What is headache?

A headache is when your head feels uncomfortable or painful, like it’s being gently squeezed or tapped from the inside.

Imagine you have a helmet that fits perfectly on your head, that's how your skull feels when everything is just right. But sometimes, your brain and the tissues around it get a little tired or stretched, and they send messages to your head saying, "Hey, I need attention!" That’s what makes you feel like your head is hurting.

What Makes Your Head Hurt?

  • Tension headaches are like when you’re holding a heavy backpack for too long, your neck and shoulders get tight, and that tension travels up to your head.
  • Migraine headaches are more like a storm inside your head. They can make your head feel throbbing or pulsing, and sometimes even make lights seem too bright or sounds too loud.

Your body is trying to tell you something, maybe it needs rest, water, or just a little break from all that running around!
