What is harvest?

Harvest is when we gather the food that plants have grown all year.

Imagine you plant a seed in the ground like a little sleeping baby. It grows into a strong plant that makes fruit or vegetables. When it’s ready, harvest means we pick those fruits and veggies to eat.

Like Picking Berries in the Forest

Think of harvest like picking berries in a forest. You wait until the berries are ripe, they get big and juicy. Then you go into the forest and collect them all in a basket. That’s what farmers do with their crops: they wait for the plants to be ready, then harvest them so we can eat them.

Harvest Time is Like a Big Party

Harvest time is like a big party, everything is ready! The trees have ripe apples, the fields have lots of corn, and the gardens have fresh carrots. It’s like when your favorite snacks are all on the table at once, and you get to pick what you want to eat.

Sometimes people even celebrate harvest with festivals or special meals, it’s a time to enjoy the fruits of their hard work!
