What is hamburger?

A hamburger is like a sandwich that’s super happy to have meat inside it.

Imagine you're holding a plate. On the bottom is a bun, which is like a friendly pillow for your food. Then, there's a piece of meat, usually beef, which is like the hero of the sandwich, strong and tasty. Around that meat, we put vegetables, like lettuce (which is leafy and green) and tomato (which is juicy and red). Sometimes there’s cheese, which is like a gooey blanket that melts around everything.

Then comes another bun, like the top of your sandwich, holding everything together. You can press it with your hands or even cook it on a griddle, like when you make pancakes!

What Makes It Special

A hamburger isn’t just about meat and bread. People love to add things like ketchup, which is red and sweet, or mustard, which is yellow and tangy. Sometimes there’s onion, which is crunchy and makes your mouth go “whoosh!” when you bite into it.

It's like a party in your mouth, every ingredient has its own role, and together they make something delicious!
