A habitat is the special home where a creature lives and plays every day.
Imagine you're a squirrel, your habitat is the tree with branches, nuts, and maybe even a cozy nest in a hollow trunk. That’s where you sleep, eat, and hide from bigger animals like foxes or hawks. Just like how you have a bedroom, a kitchen, and maybe a playground, creatures have their own version of these places in nature.
What Makes a Good Habitat?
A habitat has everything the creature needs to survive, food, water, shelter, and space to move around. If it's a forest habitat, there might be trees, bushes, and rivers nearby. If it’s a desert habitat, maybe there are rocks, sand, and only a little rain now and then.
Different Creatures Have Different Habitats
A fish lives in water, while a bird flies through the sky. A cat might nap on your lap, its habitat could be your living room! Every creature has its own favorite spot where it feels safe and happy, just like you have your favorite blanket or toy.
