How Glycogen Works
Your body uses sugar (from food) as energy. When you have extra sugar, your body turns it into glycogen, which it stores in your liver and muscles.
- When you're active, like jumping on a trampoline or riding a bike, your muscles use glycogen to keep going.
- When you're resting, your liver can send some glycogen to other parts of your body so they don’t run out of energy.
It’s like having a little battery inside your body that charges up when you eat and powers you through playtime!
