What is Geopolitics?

Geopolitics is like a big game that countries play on a world map.

Imagine you and your friends are playing a board game where each person gets to move pieces around on a map. Some of you want to take over the biggest castle, others want to protect their own land, and some are trying to make secret deals with other players. That's kind of like geopolitics, it’s how countries try to win power, control places, or form alliances with each other.

Why do countries play this game?

Countries want things like money, resources, or safe spaces for their people. Just like you might want the best toy in the game, a country might want the richest land or the strongest army. Sometimes they make friends with other countries to help them win, that’s called an alliance.

What happens when the game gets serious?

If a country is really upset with another one, it might start a fight, like a big argument that turns into a war. This can change who controls what on the map for many years.

It's not always about fighting though. Sometimes countries just want to trade or share ideas, and that makes everyone happy!
