What is flower?

A flower is like a colorful party that plants throw to say “Hi” and make new friends.

Imagine you have a little friend who lives underground, maybe a plant. When it wants to meet other plants, it puts on a flower, which is like a bright hat or dress made of petals. The petals are soft and pretty, just like the paper you fold into origami animals.

How Flowers Work

Flowers have special parts that help them make new friends. One part is called the stamen, which has little dust called pollen, it's like glitter that helps plants talk to each other. Another part is the pistil, which catches the pollen and helps make a new plant grow.

Sometimes, bees or butterflies come by to help spread the pollen from one flower to another. It’s like they’re delivering letters between friends!

When the flower has done its job, it might turn into something else, like fruit or seeds, so new plants can be born. That's how flowers make more plants and keep the world full of color!
