What is Florida?

Florida is like a giant, sunny playground that’s part land and part water.

What Florida Looks Like

Imagine you have a toy box full of sand and blue blocks. Florida is like that toy box, most of it is land, but it also has lots of water around it, like the ocean or a lake. Some parts are flat, like when you spread out your sand, while others are bumpy, like when you stack up your blocks.

What Florida Is Like to Live In

Florida is home to many people, just like how your classroom has many kids. Some people live in cities, which are like really busy playgrounds with lots of things going on, cars, buildings, and schools. Others live near the beach, where you can run around in the sand and jump into the water.

Florida also changes with the seasons, just like how your body feels different when it’s hot or cold. In the summer, it's warm enough to wear only a swimsuit, sometimes even on the beach!
