Filtration is when you separate things by size, like sorting your toys after playtime.
Imagine you have a mix of big blocks and tiny beads in a bucket, they’re all jumbled up together. If you pour that mixture into a strainer, the big blocks stay behind, but the tiny beads slip through because they're small enough to fit through the holes. That's filtration!
Like Sifting Sand
Think about when you're at the beach and you want to collect clean sand. You might use a sieve, it looks like a big spoon with little holes in it. When you shake the sieve, the sand goes through, but the bigger pieces of shell or rocks stay on top. That’s just like filtration!
A Filter Like Your Nose
Your nose does something similar every day! When you breathe in, your nose filters out dust and pollen, the tiny stuff goes in, and the big stuff gets stuck so it doesn’t go all the way to your lungs.
Filtration is everywhere, from your kitchen to your body, just like sorting toys or sifting sand!
