What is farsightedness?

Farsightedness is when you can see things that are far away clearly, but things that are close seem blurry.

Imagine you're wearing a pair of glasses that help you see the blackboard at school, but when you try to read your homework, it looks all wobbly and fuzzy. That’s kind of like what happens with farsightedness, your eyes work best when looking at things far away, but they struggle when looking at close-up stuff.

How It Feels

If you have farsightedness, it's like trying to read a book while wearing a funny pair of glasses that make everything up close look squiggly. You might feel tired or sore in your eyes after reading or doing close work for a long time because your eyes are working extra hard.

Why It Happens

Your eyes have special parts called lenses, and when you're farsighted, those lenses don’t bend light just right, they need help to see things up close. Sometimes, doctors give you glasses or contact lenses that help the light bend better so everything looks clear again!
