What is farmland?

Farmland is land that people use to grow food, just like a big garden that never stops working.

Imagine you have a little plot in your backyard where you plant carrots and tomatoes. Now imagine that plot is as big as a whole neighborhood, that’s farmland! People work on it every day, planting seeds, watering them, and waiting for the plants to grow into fruits and vegetables we can eat.

How farmland works

Farmland is like a giant kitchen where the ingredients are grown instead of cooked. Farmers use tools like tractors and shovels, big versions of what you might use in your own garden, to help their crops grow strong and healthy.

Sometimes, people even build houses on the land next to farmland, so they can enjoy fresh food from the nearby fields every day. It’s like having a farmer as your neighbor who grows all your favorite snacks!
