What Fairness Feels Like
Imagine you're sharing candy with your friends. If one person gets 10 pieces and another only gets 2, that’s not fair, it feels like someone got more luck than others. But if everyone gets the same amount, or gets enough for what they want to do (like some get extra if they really love chocolate), then that's fairness in action.
Why Fairness Matters
Fairness helps people feel happy and ready to try their best. When you know you're being treated fairly, whether it’s at school, on the playground, or even when sharing snacks, it makes everything more fun. It’s like having a good team: everyone plays their part, and no one feels left out.
Sometimes fairness means giving people what they need, not just what looks equal. Like if one friend is really tired, fairness might mean letting them rest while others play, that's fairness too!
Examples
- A teacher gives extra help to students who need it most, even if that means others get less attention.
- A child feels unfair when their friend gets a bigger slice of pizza without any reason.
- Two friends split the last candy between them because they both want it.
