What does "extremely cold" feel like?
Think about eating an ice cream on a hot day, it’s already chilly enough to make your tongue tingle. Now imagine that ice cream is -40 degrees (that's really, really cold). That's so cold it feels like it could freeze you in seconds!
How do we measure "extremely cold"?
We use something called a thermometer, which tells us how hot or cold the air is. In places with extremely cold, thermometers can go down to -50 degrees or even lower, that's colder than an ice cube in your fridge!
