What is Expansion?

Expansion is when something grows bigger by adding more parts to it, just like when you add blocks to a tower or cookies to a plate.

Like a Growing Tower

Imagine you have a tower made of 3 blocks. That’s not very tall. But if you keep adding more blocks on top, one by one, two by two, the tower gets taller and bigger. That's what expansion is like: it's when something becomes larger because we add more to it.

Now think about your favorite snack, cookies! If you have 2 cookies on a plate, that’s not too many. But if you keep adding more cookies, one by one, the plate gets fuller and there are more cookies to eat. That's expansion again: it's when something becomes larger because we add more things to it.

So whether you're building towers or eating cookies, expansion is just a fancy word for getting bigger by adding more! Expansion is when something grows bigger by adding more parts to it, just like when you add blocks to a tower or cookies to a plate.
