What is equality?

Equality means everyone gets the same amount, just like when you and your friend are sharing candies.

Imagine you have 10 candies, and you want to share them with your best friend. If you both get 5 candies each, that’s equality, it's fair because neither of you has more or less than the other.

But if one of you gets 7 candies and the other only gets 3, that’s not equality. It’s like one person is getting a bigger pile, while the other is left with just a few.

Think about playing on the swings at the park. If every kid gets to swing for the same amount of time, that's equality, everyone has their turn, no one is waiting too long or skipping ahead.

But if one kid swings forever and another only gets to go once, that’s not equal. It feels unfair, just like when you get less candy than your friend.
