What is episode?

An episode is like a short story that happens on TV or in a video game, it's one part of a bigger adventure.

Imagine you have a favorite cartoon about brave pirates who go on treasure hunts. Each time they set sail, that’s an episode. It starts with them leaving the port and ends when they return, having either found gold or run into a monster. You watch one episode, then another, and another, each one is like a mini adventure.

Like a Chapter in a Book

If you think of a TV show as a book, an episode is like a single chapter. Just as a book has many chapters that tell the full story, a TV show has many episodes that build up to the final tale. Each episode might have its own problem to solve or mystery to uncover, but it all connects together.

A Little Bit of Time

An episode usually lasts about 20, 30 minutes, just long enough for you to get lost in a world of knights, dragons, or space travelers, and then come back to your homework with a smile. An episode is like a short story that happens on TV or in a video game, it's one part of a bigger adventure.
