What is Effort?

Effort is how hard you work to do something.

Imagine you're trying to push a big toy car across the floor. If it's easy, you don’t have to push very hard, that’s low effort. But if the toy car is stuck in the middle of the room and you need to move it all the way to the other side, you might have to push really hard, that’s high effort.

Like Pushing a Toy Car

Think about climbing stairs. If you're going up one step, it doesn't take much energy, low effort. But if you're running up ten steps, that takes more energy, high effort. Your body feels the difference!

Effort is Everywhere

You use effort when you write your name, ride your bike, or even when you chew your food. The bigger the task, the more effort it takes. And just like with the toy car, sometimes you need to take a break so you can keep going, that's how your body tells you when it needs rest!
