A doorbell is like a loud, friendly knock that tells you someone is at your door, but without having to touch it.
Imagine you're playing with your toys in the living room when suddenly ding-ding! A sound comes from near the front door. You look up and see your mom standing there with a smile. That doorbell just told you, “Hey, someone is here!”
How It Works
When you press the button on the outside of the house, maybe near the front door or by the mailbox, it sends a signal through wires to a chime inside the house. The chime then makes that ding-ding sound.
It's like having a special friend who lives near the door and shouts, “Hello!” every time someone comes to visit.
Why We Use It
Sometimes you can't hear someone knocking if you're playing or watching TV. The doorbell helps you know when visitors are coming, just like your friend shouting from outside!
