What is door?

A door is like a big, moveable wall that helps you go from one place to another.

What a Door Looks Like

Imagine you're in your bedroom, and there's a flat rectangle on the wall, that’s a door! It can swing open or shut, just like how you open and close your toy box. When it’s open, you can walk through it into the hallway, just like when you take your favorite stuffed animal out of the toy box.

What a Door Does

A door is not just for walking through, it also helps keep things inside or outside. When you shut your door, it makes a soft click, and it’s like saying “goodbye” to the hallway until you need to go back in. Sometimes doors have handles or knobs that you can push or pull, just like how you open your lunchbox with a tab.

You might even see a door at school, when you walk into the classroom, you're going through a door, just like walking through the front gate of your playground!
