Discharge is when something leaves a place quickly, just like when you empty out your toy box.
What It Feels Like
Imagine you have a full backpack after a long day at the park, it’s heavy and tight. When you finally take everything out, whoosh! All your toys and snacks spill out in one go. That's discharge, all the stuff leaving at once.
How It Happens
Sometimes, like when you're playing with a water balloon, you fill it up with water. Then, when you squeeze it, plunk! The water comes out fast. That’s discharge too, the water is the thing that leaves quickly.
In real life, your body does this all the time. When you sneeze or cough, air and stuff come flying out, that's discharge in action!
Examples
- A battery lighting up a small bulb is an example of electric discharge.
- When you touch a doorknob after walking on carpet, a tiny spark happens, that’s a discharge too.
