Direction is like telling your toy car which way to go on the floor.
Imagine you have a red toy car and a blue toy car. You say, “Go!”, but if you don’t tell them which way to go, they might zoom off in completely different directions, like one going straight ahead and the other spinning around. Direction is what tells them which path to follow.
Like Giving Instructions
Think of direction as giving instructions to your friend when you're playing hide-and-seek. If you say “Go left,” that means you want them to move in a certain way, just like if you told your toy car, “Turn right.”
Direction is Everywhere
When you walk from the kitchen to the living room, you’re following a direction too! You might go forward, or maybe backward. Even when you run around the house, you're always moving in some kind of direction, just like your toy car.
So whether it's a toy car, your friend, or even you, everyone needs direction to know where they're going!
Examples
- A dog runs in the same direction as its owner.
- You point your finger toward the north.
