What is digging?

Digging is when you move things out of the way so you can see or reach what’s underneath.

Imagine you have a big pile of toys on your bedroom floor. If you want to get to the toy car that's hidden under all the blocks, you need to move the blocks aside, that’s like digging!

What Digging Feels Like

When you dig with your hands or a tool like a shovel, it’s like pushing through a blanket of sand or dirt. Each time you move some stuff out of the way, you get closer to what's hidden below.

Why We Dig

People dig to find things, like treasure in the ground, or to plant flowers in the garden. You might dig in the sandbox at the park to build a castle or to look for buried toys.

Digging is just moving stuff around so you can see or reach something special!
