What is democratic?

Democratic means people get to choose what happens, like when you pick your favorite snack for lunch.

Imagine you and your friends are deciding which game to play at recess. Instead of one person saying, “We’re playing tag,” everyone gets to vote. If most people say “tag,” then that’s the game. That’s democratic, everyone has a say.

How it works

In a big group, like a school or a country, you might pick someone to help make decisions for you. But even then, you still get to choose who that person is. It’s like picking a team captain, the whole class gets to vote on who should be in charge.

Why it's fun

Being democratic means your voice matters. You don’t have to follow someone else’s idea just because they’re bigger or louder. You can all agree together, and that makes everything fairer and more fun!Democratic means people get to choose what happens, like when you pick your favorite snack for lunch.
