How it happens
Imagine you're playing with blocks. You stack them up to make a tower. Later, you see someone else stacking blocks in the same way. Even though they’re not your blocks, and you didn’t realize you were doing that earlier, you feel like you've done it before, that’s deja vu!
It happens because your brain is trying to remember something, but it gets confused. It's like when you're trying to find your sock in the morning, and suddenly you think, “Oh! I wore this sock yesterday!” But actually, you just grabbed a new one.
