What is deification?

Deification is when something extraordinary becomes divine, like a superhero who becomes a god.

Imagine your favorite toy, let’s say it's a red fire truck that you love to play with every day. Now, imagine one day, the fire truck saves all the toys in the neighborhood from a big, imaginary fire. Everyone starts to believe it has super powers. They begin to treat it like a real hero, even making little shrines for it and saying prayers before bedtime. That’s deification, turning something ordinary into something extra special because of what it did.

How It Happens

Deification usually happens when people give a lot of importance to someone or something, especially after they do something amazing. It's like giving your favorite toy a big trophy and telling everyone how brave it was.

Sometimes, even real people get deified, like kings who are remembered as gods long after they're gone. But at its heart, deification is just a way of saying, "You were so great, you almost became legendary!"
