What is cult?

A cult is like a special group of friends who all believe in one very cool idea, and they stick together to explore it.

Imagine you have a favorite toy that can do amazing things, like turning into a spaceship or flying through the sky. Now imagine all your friends also have this same toy, and they spend time every day playing with it, talking about how awesome it is, and even making new rules for how it should be used. That’s kind of what happens in a cult, except instead of a toy, they might believe in something like a secret message, or a special way to live life.

What Makes It a Cult?

In a cult, people often share the same beliefs and follow the same rules. They might even have a leader who helps everyone understand their special idea better. Sometimes, this leader is like the "toy expert", someone who knows all the cool tricks the toy can do.

But not every group of friends is a cult, just like not every toy is magical. A cult becomes more interesting when the whole group works together to keep exploring their special idea, day after day.
