What is creativity?

Creativity is when you make something new by mixing things you already know.

Imagine you have a box full of building blocks, some red, some blue, some big, some small. You’ve played with them before, but today, you decide to stack them in a way you never tried before. Maybe you build a house that floats or a robot that can dance. That’s creativity, taking what you know and putting it together in a fresh, fun way.

Like Building a New Playground

Sometimes creativity is like turning your backyard into a new playground. You might use the old swings, but add a slide made of cardboard and a tunnel from blankets. It’s still the same yard, but now it feels new and exciting, just like how you feel when you come up with a clever idea.

Creativity is Everywhere

You don’t need special tools or superpowers to be creative. When you draw a picture, sing a made-up song, or even name your pet something silly, you're being creative. It’s like having a secret recipe that lets you turn everyday things into something amazing.
