What is crawling?

Crawling is when something moves by using its arms and legs to push itself along the floor.

Imagine you’re playing on the floor, and you want to get from one toy to another. You don’t walk yet, you use your hands and knees to help you move. That’s crawling! Just like how babies learn to move around before they can walk.

How it works

When a baby crawls, they put their hands on the floor in front of them and push themselves forward, while their knees or legs help them move along. It's like using your hands and feet as little wheels to roll across the floor.

Why crawling is fun

Crawling feels like a game! You can go around obstacles, like pillows or blocks, it’s like playing hide-and-seek with the floor. And when you finally reach your favorite toy, it feels like winning!

So next time you see someone crawling, imagine them playing a fun game on the floor, just like you would!
