Corruption is when people in power use that power for their own benefit, instead of helping others.
Imagine you're at a toy store with your friends, and there's only one super cool robot left. Everyone gets to pick a toy first, but the person who runs the store lets their favorite friend take the robot before anyone else. That’s not fair, right? That’s like corruption in action, instead of letting everyone choose fairly, someone special got what they wanted just because they knew the store owner.
When Rules Are Bended
Sometimes, people don’t even need to be favorites, they can pay money or give gifts to get what they want. It's like if you gave your teacher a big bag of candy, and then you got to choose first, even though other kids didn't get anything.
What Happens When Corruption Is Big?
When corruption happens in big places, like cities or countries, it can make things harder for everyone. People might not get the best jobs, schools, or roads because someone else is getting those things just because of who they know, not how good they are.
But if we all work together to keep things fair, we can stop corruption from happening!
Examples
