Controlling is when you make something happen by guiding it or changing it a little bit at a time.
Imagine you're playing with a toy car. You push it, and it moves forward. If you want it to go around a corner, you gently nudge it in that direction. That’s like controlling, you’re helping the car follow the path you want.
Like Steering a Bike
Think of riding a bike. When you turn the handlebars, the whole bike changes direction. You're not making the bike fly or jump, just guiding it little by little so it goes where you want. That’s controlling too!
Controlling in Real Life
When you're playing with blocks and you move one to make a tower taller, you’re controlling how tall your tower gets. You might even push it gently to see if it stays up, that's like testing what happens when you control things.
You do this all the time! Every time you adjust something to get a better result, you're using control, just like steering a toy car or riding a bike.
Examples
