Contrast is when two things are very different from each other, and that difference helps you see or notice them better.
Imagine you're playing with blocks. If you put a red block next to another red block, it's hard to tell them apart, they look the same. But if you put a red block next to a blue block, suddenly both stand out more because they are very different, that’s contrast!
What Contrast Looks Like
Think about your favorite snack time. If you have a plate with just cookies, it's easy to grab one without looking. But if you have a plate with cookies and chocolate chips next to each other, the difference between them makes it easier to pick what you want, that’s contrast in action!
Why Contrast Matters
When things are different from each other, they help us see or feel them better. Like when you wear a dark shirt against a bright background, it helps you stand out more!
Examples
- A black cat on a white background is easier to see than a gray cat on a gray background.
- Bright lights in the dark make things more visible.
- When you wear a red shirt against a green wall, it stands out.
