What is Constellation Orion?

Constellation Orion is like a group of bright stars that form a special picture in the night sky.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy blocks, you stack them up to make a shape or a person. That's kind of what astronomers do, but with stars instead of blocks. They look at how the stars are placed and connect them to make shapes we call constellations.

Orion Looks Like a Hero

Orion is one of these constellations, it looks like a strong hero standing in the sky. You can imagine him wearing a belt made of three bright stars, and holding up two big flashlights (which are really stars) in each hand. This hero is so famous that even ancient people told stories about him.

Orion Is Easy to Spot

You can see Orion on a clear night during winter, it’s one of the easiest constellations to find. The three stars in his belt are very bright and easy to spot, just like the buttons on your favorite jacket. Once you see them, you can imagine the rest of him standing proudly above you.
