Conquest is when one group takes over another group by force, like winning a big game.
Imagine you and your friend are playing tag in the park. You're both trying to be it, but your friend runs really fast and catches you. Now they’re it, and you have to run instead. That’s kind of like conquest, one group (like your friend) beats another group (like you), and then takes control.
What It Feels Like
When a group is conquered, it's like being the person who gets caught in tag. You might not want to be it anymore, but you have to follow the rules of the game, just like people in a conquered place might have to follow new leaders and new rules.
How Conquest Works
Sometimes conquest happens with big battles, like when knights on horses ride into a city and make everyone surrender. Other times it's more like sneaking up behind someone while they're not looking, like when you hide behind a tree to surprise your friend in tag.
In both cases, the person or group that wins gets to be it, and that means they get to lead the game!
