What is concatenation?

Concatenation is when you link two or more things together to make one longer thing.

Imagine you have two blocks, like the ones you stack to build towers. If you put them side by side, they become one long block, just like how you might link your name with a friend’s name to make a cool new name for a team.

When you write or say words, concatenation is like joining them together. For example, if you have the word “cat” and add “fish” to it, you get “catfish”. It’s just like putting two blocks together, only with letters instead of bricks.

Think about a train: each car is separate at first. But when they link up, the whole train moves as one. That’s concatenation, joining parts to make something bigger and more useful.

You do this all the time without even noticing! It's like building with blocks or linking names or trains, simple, fun, and very real.
