What is compare?

Compare means looking at two things and seeing how they are similar or different.

Imagine you have two bowls of cereal, one has raisins, and the other has chocolate chips. When you compare them, you might say: "This bowl has raisins, and that bowl has chocolate chips." You're checking what's the same and what's different between them.

Like Finding a Treasure Map

Think of compare like looking at two maps to find treasure. One map shows a path with rocks, and the other shows a path with rivers. When you compare the maps, you can decide which path is easier, or if both have their own special challenges!

A Game of Guess Who?

Another way to think about it is playing Guess Who? You ask questions like: "Do they have glasses?" or "Is their hair curly?" Each question helps you compare the person on your card with all the other characters, narrowing down who it might be.

So when you compare things, whether cereal bowls, treasure maps, or game characters, you’re just finding out what makes them alike and different!
