What is coherence?

Coherence is when things line up and work together smoothly, just like your favorite toy pieces fit perfectly into a box.

Imagine you have a set of blocks, some red, some blue. If you stack them in random order, the tower might wobble or even fall over. But if you put the red ones first, then the blue ones on top, it stands strong and neat. That’s coherence, when parts are arranged so they support each other.

How Coherence Works

Think of a sentence: "The cat ran fast." Each word fits together nicely, like blocks in a tower. But if you say, "Fast ran the cat," it feels off, like a wobbly tower. The words still make sense, but they’re not coherent, they don’t line up as smoothly.

Coherence in Real Life

When your friends take turns talking during a game, that’s coherence too! If everyone speaks at once, it’s hard to understand. But if one person talks, then the next, it flows like a song, easy to follow and enjoy.
