What is co-construction?

Co-construction is when two people work together to build something new, just like building a tower with blocks side by side.

Imagine you and your friend are both trying to stack blocks as high as possible. But instead of each doing it alone, you take turns adding blocks on top of each other. You help each other out, and together, your tower gets taller than either of you could have made it alone. That’s co-construction, working together to create something bigger.

Like Building a Sandcastle

Let’s say you’re at the beach, and you both want to build the best sandcastle ever. You don’t just do it separately, you talk about how to shape the tower, where to put the shells, and even share your bucket and shovel. Each of you adds something special, and together, you make a castle that’s more amazing than either of you could have made alone.

It Happens Everywhere

You might be doing co-construction without even realizing it! When you help your mom cook dinner, or when you and your brother draw a picture together, that's co-construction in action. It’s just like working together to make something cool! Co-construction is when two people work together to build something new, just like building a tower with blocks side by side.
